This "Samsara" vinyl pressing is the result of a successful Indiegogo campaign on behalf of a Memphis/Nashville band that existed 1988-92, with a single eponymous David Kahne-produced release on Columbia (1990) and a minor hit ("Me & Elvis"). Produced by Ross Rice with all original members, both the CD and vinyl covers features art by Keith Brogdon of Thinking Out Loud Productions. Manufactured with loving care by the good folks at Memphis Record Pressing. Features nine of the twelve songs from the CD.

  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

All twelve songs are also available on the Samsara CD, which comes in an eco-pac with the cover design by Keith Brogdon of Thinking Out Loud. Both vinyl and CD have been mastered by Bruce Barielle, of the fine city of New Orleans, and though the music comes out at a fine level, we do not participate in "volume wars" so it's not overly compressed like many new rock CDs. Also a result of the Indiegogo campaign, with donors galore recognized in the gatefold!

about

sometimes life is a mountain. sometimes the mountain is life itself. sometimes the mountain is in the way. but what's at the top? it's real.

lyrics

I never wanted for a mountain, it just came to me
Woke up with a mountain between me and the deep blue sea
So I asked the mountain, “Why’d you come and find me?
I didn’t ask for a mountain between me and the one place I want to be.”
Listened hard to the mountain, it said nothing to me
So I climbed up the mountain, it was the only way to break free
Climbing up on the mountain made me forget about the sea
Started thinking that mountain was all my world was ever gonna be

When it’s real
It’s a long time coming round
And you feel
Like you’re never coming down
And it’s real
Took a long time, now you’re everywhere
While right here
Letting go, let it go now

Hanging out on the mountain seemed the right place to me
Satisfied on the mountain, I was a member of the family
A good life on the mountain, loving and living free
And I was happy on the mountain
Til I saw through the trees….a bird of the sea….
Got back climbing the mountain, no one there to stop me
Everybody on the mountain was right where they wanted to be
And at the top of the mountain, the sky was waiting for me
My sea surrounding the mountain
Blue as far as the eye could see….
